How much does my repair cost?
Exotic District does not post repair prices. Every quote is free and you hear the price before any work starts. The price depends on your device and the part it needs. Text us the model or ask for a free quote. See what changes the price. Get a free quote.
Do you charge to look at it?
No. Exotic District checks your device for free. Some shops call this a diagnostic and charge for it. Here the check is free. If a repair attempt does not fix the problem, you do not pay for that attempt. You hear the price first. You decide before we start.
Can the price change after you open it?
Rarely. Some devices hide a second problem inside. We never go over the quote without asking you first.
What if it can't be fixed?
If a repair attempt does not fix the problem, you do not pay for that attempt. Say we try a new battery and find the main board is bad. You do not pay for the battery attempt. Any different repair needs a new quote you approve. How it works.

Yes. Bring it in and tell us what was done. We check it free and tell you what we find. A phone that was opened before can be harder to work on. We say so before we start.

Data, parts and warranty
Do you need my passcode?
For most screen, battery and port jobs, yes. We need it to test the repair before you leave. You can stay while we work, or unlock it for us at the counter. Ask us if you would rather not share it.
Are my photos safe?
We don't look through your photos or messages. We open only what the repair needs. Some repairs can erase a phone, so back up first.
Can I keep my phone locked?
You can unlock it yourself at the counter for tests that need access. Some Samsung phones offer Maintenance Mode, which limits access to personal data. Back up your device before bringing it in, and ask which tests your device needs.
My phone is locked and I forgot the password. Can you help?
Only the account owner can remove an iCloud or Google lock. We cannot take it off. Reset the password with Apple or Google first, then bring the phone. Bring your passcode too, so we can test our work.
Should I turn off Find My iPhone?
Yes, that helps. Bring your passcode or screen lock too. We need to turn the device on to test our work.
What parts do you use?
We're an independent shop. We pick parts that fit your device and your budget. We explain part choices with your quote. What the screen choices mean.
What happens to my old screen or battery?
Want your old part back? Ask us at the counter before we start.
How does the warranty work?
It lasts 60 days from the repair date. It covers a bad replacement part and our work on that repair. We must inspect the device before approving a claim. Physical and liquid damage are excluded, along with other conditions. Read the full policy.
Will a repair here void my Apple or Samsung warranty?
Using an independent shop does not, by itself, void a maker's warranty under U.S. law. The maker may not cover damage caused by a repair. Ask us if you're unsure.

Do you buy phones?
Yes. Exotic District buys phones and sells phones in Oakland. Bring yours in and we test it first. Then we make you an offer in person. Bring a photo ID. Send the details first to save time.
Do you sell used phones?
Yes. What we have changes all the time, so we keep no list online. Call or text us and ask what is on the shelf today. Used phones.
How do you pay me for my phone?
Cash or Zelle. Store credit or trade, too. You pick what works for you. Sign out of iCloud or your Google account first.
